It is known that will.i.am has previously expressed admiration and respect for 2NE1 and it has been said that he enjoys their music especially. This is a testament to the potential for 2NE1's possible appeal in the US.

There are no official claims or statements about whether there will be a US debut album for 2NE1 but with this new collaboration with a big name like will.i.am and their world tour which will come to the US as well, the album may not be that far away.

will.i.am's new album, willpower, is scheduled for release in September.
