The CBS radio station, which was formerly 92.3 NOW, includes music beyond the Top 40 format to include emerging artists from throughout the world. 92.3 NOW focused on Top 40 music but was one of the first radio stations to include the 2012 hit “Gangnam Style” in its rotation. 92.3 NOW also provided coverage of Psy's iconic 2012 performance of “Gangnam Style” for NBC’s “The Today Show.”

It should be noted that 97.1 AMP, the Los Angeles sister station to 92.3 AMP, has yet to include “I Am The Best” into its rotation playlist.

“I Am The Best” is from the 2011 self-titled extended play album which also featured the tracks “Ugly,” “Lonely,” and “Hate You.” “I Am The Best” has started to attract the attention of the audiences in the United States due to its inclusion in a recent commercial for Microsoft. The iconic music video for "I Am The Best" also recently celebrated hitting the one hundred million view mark on YouTube. 

Mainstream radio play for “I Am The Best” comes on the heels of the recent announcement that 2NE1’s leader CL would be releasing an album in the United States, with the help of American talent manager Scooter Braun.

“I Am The Best” joins songs such as “Gangnam Style” and Wonder Girls’ “Like Money,” which have also received mainstream radio play in the United States. Many fans and industry insiders have began to wonder if "I Am The Best" is the new "Gangnam Style." The increased popularity of the song could lead to more attention for YG Entertainment and K-Pop.

In addition to including “I Am The Best” in its playlist, 92.3 AMP has included 2NE1 in its Demand It! campaign which allows fans to request their favorite artists to perform in their city.
