It was already revealed to the public that the first installment of the Transformers: Age of Extinction is set to hit the big screen on June 2016.

However, a lot of changes are going to happen in the fifth Transformers movie. One of which is the change of the film's director. Michael Bay, director of the four Transformers movie confirmed that he already left his director's chair and will pass it to someone else.

In an interview with USA Today, Bay said, "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make." Bay is dedicating his time on his forthcoming elephant documentary.

Because of Bay's exit, another big change is rumoured to happen as lead actor, Mark Wahlberg would also be leaving the film and Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are rumoured to reprise their roles.

Fox said in an interview with MoviePilot.com, "I'm not sure if I'll return. As long as things are good between everyone and Shia returns with me I'd like to see us partner up with a new cast like a crossover."

However, Shia is uncertain with this. "It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know it's not that I don't think about it. But no, I highly doubt if I'll be back for another one. I'll do another Michael Bay film but not Transformers."

There are also speculations that the plot of Transformers 5 will revolve around the Beast Wars era. Beast Wars era happens in the future and in another planet where both Autobots and Decepticons need to replicate Beast form in order to live continuously and be safe from radiation.

The only one that will be left in the original production will be screenplay writer Ehren Kruger and Peter Cullen who gives the voice to Optimus Prime. Another rumor says that Liam Neeson will be added to the cast and will voice Vector Prime, an ancient Autobot that has power over space and time.
