Pink Floyd Tour 2015 Not Happening; Legendary Rock Band's Endless River Album To Set Amazon Sales Record

While fans of the legendary rock band might anticipate for a Pink Floyd tour 2015 as the group announced a new record, a series of shows prove to be highly unlikely.

Speaking to Gigwise, Nick Mason said while they're happy about their new record "Endless River" and "it would be fun to play live," a Pink Floyd tour 2015 won't be happening.

"[The album] doesn't actually lend itself to a proper tour," Mason explained. "It's something that you could play in UFO Club in 1967, it certainly isn't a stadium sort of event, and without Rick [Wright] it's probably impossible."

He also cited the challenges they might face should they wish to push through with the tour without Wright, saying: "It's impossible to play because the nature of it is that a lot of it is designed there and then - if one played it again, you wouldn't want to repeat what was on the record. It's not something where you learn it and play it."

Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright died in 2008 after "a short struggle with cancer."

Mason maintained there are no plans to tour the album at all. "I don't think so," he said.

Despite not pushing through with a Pink Floyd tour 2015, the band continues to reap success as pre-order sales for their latest and probably last record is set to top all-time records on Amazon. "The Endless River" is slated for a November 10 release.

Amazon EU Digital Music director Steve Bernstein said in a statement that "Pink Floyd's 'The Endless River' could become the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.co.uk, following other artists like One Direction and Robbie Williams who have held that top spot, is a testament to the strength and diversity of the UK music scene."
