The HTC One M9 Prime cannot escape the rumor mill as reports suggested the possibility of the device launching early next year.

Alongside the buzz about the HTC One M9 release are the emerging rumors claiming that the M9 Prime, the premium variant for the upcoming generation of the smartphone, will also arrive next year.

Previous reports about the HTC flagship devices suggested that the company would release HTC One M8 Prime - an upgraded version of the original 2014 smartphone with better and greater specs. Most of the HTC One rumors came from the prolific tipster with a Twitter handler @evleaks who also said that HTC's plans for the HTC One M8 Prime have been suspended.

@evleaks previously shared that the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9 Prime "will be the next full refreshes of the One Mx family." 

However, as 2015 quickly approaches, the reports about the HTC One M9 and a 'Prime' variant are continuously swirling around the tech world. Although HTC hasn't provided any official information yet regarding the release of HTC One M9 Prime release date and specs, news suggest that the higher-end model will be available early next year together with the HTC One M9.

However, a report on PocketNow.com noted the possibility for the HTC One M9 Prime to hit the shelves earlier than the 'regular' HTC One M9 variant.

The Taiwanese smartphone company plans to unveil the HTC One M9 during the Mobile World Congress, which is happening in Barcelona, Spain from March 2-5, 2015.

As for the specs, citing @evleaks, DesignNTrend noted that the smartphone will be designed from an "exotic material: composite of aluminum and liquid silicone." Furthermore, the smartphone will have a waterproof and dustproof body, as well as a Cat. 6 LTE radio, and a USB 3.0 port.

The news about the HTC One M9 Prime specs also suggested that it will be powered by Snapdragon 805 chipset and 3 GB RAM. The display screen will be equipped with 5.5-inch Quad HD resolution.
