On October 27, Mnet announced the addition to the performance lineup for the 2014 Style Icon Awards. Girls’ Generation sub-group Taetiseo have been added to lineup along with 4Minute and SISTAR’s Soyou. Taetiseo, 4Minute, and Soyou are among candidates for the coveted Style Icon Award. 

Soyou and 2NE1’s CL were included in the top twenty of the popular vote for the 2014 Style Icon Awards (SIA) Soyou captured the attention of audiences as a solo artist through her collaboration with Junggigo on the hit “SOME.” She was also in the top ten of the 2014 SIA, sharing 2.7% of the votes with IU and actress Yoo In Na.

CL was previously announced as a performer for 2014 SIA, with a highly anticipated stage featuring American electronic dance musician and producer Diplo. Diplo previously collaborated with fellow YG Entertainment artists G-Dragon and T.O.P. Fans and critics are awaiting the stage, with speculation surrounding the upcoming solo U.S. debut of CL.

2014 SIA will begin at 7PM KST and will include the reveal of the top twenty artists for the coveted award. Big Bang’s G-Dragon was the recipient of the 2013 SIA but he placed second in the popular vote, this year. Hallyu star Kim Soo Hyun, who rose to meteoric fame following his role in “My Love From The Stars.” was the recipient of 6.5% of the popular vote.

Actors maintained a strong presence over idols for the 2014 SIA with "Fated to Love You" actor Jang Hyuk coming in third with 2.8% of the vote. Actress Jung Ryeo Won and actor Lee Seo Jin also rounded out the top ten. 

The 2014 Style Icon Awards will take place on October 28 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The Dondaemun Design Plaza has become the epicenter for Korean style since it opened earlier in 2014. With the plaza also known as the DDP playing host to Seoul Fashion Week events which have included runway appearances by K-Pop idols including EXO.
