WINNER Receives The New Icon Award As g.o.d, TaeTiSeo, 4Minute & Soyou All Receive Style Icon Awards

YG Entertainment’s rookie group WINNER kicked off the 2014 Style Icon Award with their rousing performance of their hit “Empty” for the opening stage. The group performed before a thrilled audience, many of whom were enthusiastically waving their WINNER light sticks. 

WINNER debuted with a fashion-forward concept for their album "S/S 2014." Mnet noted that WINNER was a triple-crown award recipient for "M Countdown," further proving their relevance for the award.From their debut, WINNER has exemplified an image of high fashion. WINNER were preemptively announced as the recipients of the New Icon award, which they shared with K-Drama stars Sung Joon and Han Groo.

“It’s Okay, That’s Love Star” Jo In Sung took home the coveted Style Icon of the Year award and was also the recipient of a Style Icon award. Kim Soo Hyun was the fan favorite prior to the ceremony and was not present to receive his award.

The 2014 Style Icon Awards were hosted by Korean rocker and variety show personality Jung Joon Young along with model Jang Yoon Joo. 

4Minute took the stage for an energetic performance of “What’s Your Name?” and “Watcha Doin’ Today.” 4Minute were also recipients of a Style Icon award.

Taetiseo also received recognition with a Style Icon award, with the Girls’ Generation subgroup performing “Holler.”

Tiffany spoke throughout the majority of the acceptance speech for Taetiseo during which she recognized the hard work of the behind-the-scenes team for the tvN reality show “The Taetiseo.” She provided a thank you to fans by stating “To those who make us shine the brightest SONE, thank you.”

2013 Style Icon of the Year winner G-Dragon did not receive an award and was present for the festivities. The lack of his presence was most noteable during the collaborative stage between CL and Diplo of "Dirty Vibe."  

After School member Nana received recognition as the Beauty Icon. 

SISTAR’s Soyou was recognized as a Style Icon for her captivating vocal collaborations including “Mad In Love” featuring Mad Clown, as well as “SOME” which featured hip-hop artist Junggigo.

K-Pop legends g.o.d, who reunited in 2014 for their 15th Anniversary Reunion concerts were recognized with a Style Icon Award prior to the conclusion of the program. The group has experienced revitalized success through the release of their album “Chapter 8” which featured the song “The Ugly Duckling.”

K-Pop and K-Drama idols made grand entrances alongside international stars for the Red Carpet.

The Red Carpet for the 2014 Style Icon Awards showcased the consummate style of the attendees and Style Icon nominees. The most noteable male entrants included WINNER, who have maintained sophisticated style throughout their promotional activities. 

The 2014 Style Icon Awards demonstrated that Korea is moving towards the forefront of global fashion. 

2NE1's CL made a grand entrance with American electronic dance music DJ and producer Diplo. Diplo looked exceptionally stylish next to CL and comfortable on the Red Carpet.

In addition to Diplo, there was an international presence from Thailand.Thaitanium's Khan, who recently interviewed with Kpopstarz, was present at the ceremony. Khan provided a warm greeting to his fans in Thailand, Korea, and his English speaking fans. 

Some of the most stirring K-Drama stars were Style Icon of the Year recipient Jo In Sung and actor Park Hae Jin. Go Ara, who recently donned a tomboy look for her role in "You're All Surrounded" returned to a soft feminine appearance.
