Chicago did a splendid job against the Knicks in its season opener at New York City last night. While Derrick Rose was not his usual self scoring-wise, he did end up 13 points and made several trips to the charity stripe. 

It was the Bulls' frontmen who were the difference in that game against New York where Chicago led by as many as 35 points. New center Pau Gasol had his first double-double as a Bull with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Taj Gibson came off the bench and energized Chicago's presence down low. He finished with 22 points and 8 boards. 

Other players who came off the bench and contributed well for Chicago include Doug McDermott and Aaron Brooks. 

However, in tomorrow's game against Cleveland, Rose and the Bulls will be playing in their first home game of the season, and while the win on the road is impressive, a win in their home town would get them the right momentum to meet the expectations set upon this team. 

LeBron James and the Cavs lost their season opener against the Knicks in Cleveland, and certainly they want to return the favor to Chicago, who defeated New York in their own home court. 

During the first meeting of the two ball clubs in pre-season, Rose dominated, scoring more than 30 points in less than 30 minutes. However, the Bulls lost. 

This time around, it's the real deal, and both teams would surely want a good start. And nothing is a more confidence-booster than beating the team that is seen as a title contender for this year. 

Cleveland's Big Three will certainly show up and play, just like what they did last night against the Knicks, but it will be LeBron James' show if Jimmy Butler still will not suit up for the Bulls. 

Rose should dictate the tempo in this game, penetrate the Cavs' weak interior defense and then pass to open teammates. Fortunately, there are a number of other scoring options aside from Rose - Gasol, Joakim Noah, Gibson, McDermott, Butler and the European import Nikola Mirotic.
