Winds Of Winter release date is rumored to be June 2015 as the Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin is either putting final touches on the book, or suffering from writer's block, or distracted by too many Game of Thrones interviews or is too tired, or? Or maybe Winds of Winter won't be released until 2016.

George R. R. Martin teased that he fill finally reveal who Jon Snow's parents are. Martin promised to will reveal all. He said maybe he'd do it in Winds of Winter, or he might wait until the Game of Thrones book that comes after that, "A Dream of Spring."

Fans have been speculating who Jon Snow's parents might be since the first book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels.

George RR. Martin has given no concrete release date for the release of Winds of Winter. There are reports that he's been too busy making promotional appearances "The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones," an illustrated history of the world of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones fans have been fooled before. The Winds of Winter release date has been confirmed time and time again. The most recent reports say that George R.R. Martin admitted that he is on the verge of finishing Winds of Winter. Though Martin reportedly said distractions have prevented him from concentrating on finishing "Winds of Winter."

According to Hallels, Martin reportedly finished the manuscript and is now editing. According to his contract with Bantam Books, George has to finish The Winds of Winter by the middle of 2015.

FiveThirtyEight analyst "Martinology" has averaged Martin's writing pace at about 300 words a day. Which is pretty much the pace that JK Rowling was averaged when she wrote the Harry Potter books. 

Other reports say that the 66-year-old bestselling author requested that the release date of "Winds of Winter" be moved to 2016 from the original 2015 schedule.

Vulture reported that George R.R. Martin won't have much to do on the Game of Thrones season 5 because he is finishing The Winds of Winter, the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga.
