Sitting on Buffalo Bill Highway right outside Yellowstone National Park, The Smith Mansion is a must-stop destination. Engineer Lee Smith single-handedly built the house for his family from locally harvested logs and wood. After completing the basic home, he continued to build, adding extra floors and seemingly tacked-on balconies. He tragically fell to his death while working on one of the upper balconies and the Smith Mansion has since sat empty.
