SISTAR's Soyou Responds To Online Bullies

Online bullying has become a hot news topic in recent years.  It would appear that even celebrities are deeply affected by the hurtful comments people leave online.

SISTAR member Soyou recently opened up about some of the unpleasant comments she has received from bashers online.

On MBC's talk show Quiz to Change the World on November 8, Soyou discussed her online bullying experiences with the other guests. "I read all of the comments," Soyou said, explaining that she appreciates that her fans leave messages and takes the time to hear what they have to say. "Even if there are 1,000 comments, I read them all."

But the singer explained that sometimes the comments aren't always pleasant and that some of the hurtful things said really affect her. "If I keep reading, I start to become brainwashed at a certain point."

"I once read a comment that said 'She's ugly,' and for three days, I cowered whenever the camera zoomed up on me."

Singer Jang Yoon Jung sympathized with Soyou. "I don't look at comments on the Internet," she said. "But I get hurt because the people around me tell me [what they say]."

Another one of the guests, Kim Gu Ra revealed her method for putting a positive spin on things. "I don't look either. Instead, I look at others people's comments and think, 'I guess I'm not the only one that gets criticized.'"

Son Seung Yeon, Park Gyu Ri, Soyou, Hwayobi, and Jang Yoon Jung all appeared on "Expert vs. Top Diva" segment of the November 8 broadcast.
