TVXQ Ranks First As The Foreign Artist With The Highest Total Record Sales In Japan

Group TVXQ has become the top foreign artist in total record sales in Japan.

On November 11, Oricon Style revealed that TVXQ's single, Time Works Wonders, had sold 107,000 copies in the first week after its release.

This is also their 43rd single released, selling a total of 4,088,000 copies altogether. This puts them at the top of the list for total record sales for a foreign artist in Japan.

This beats Chinese popular singer Agnes Chan, who has sold a total of  4,010,000 record sales in total.

TVXQ has released many hit songs throughout their music career including, "Break Out", "Keep Your Head Down" and more.

In 2012, they released "Android" and broke the record for the foreign artist for the first time in 10 years and 10 months.

TVXQ has topped many records with their single albums and have won in 4 categories regarding single sales.

Member Yunho commented, "We are so happy and truly honored to receive this title. We are slowly reaching our dreams and goals and we hope to continue to work hard to continue to be the best we can be."

Changmin commented, "I hope to continue to sing each song as genuinely as possible. Next year, we will be holding our 2nd dome tour in Japan and we are currently preparing for it now so we can show our best to our fans."

Recently, their album, TREE, which was released on November 3, sold 225,000 copes in the first week and broke the record as then first foreign group to sell over 200,000 copies in the first week with 3 albums in a row.

Next month, TVXQ, will be holding their special live tour, 'TVXQ! SPECIAL LIVE TOUR-T1ST0RY-' on December 6-7.
