‘America’s Next Top Model’ Contestants Learn Acting From K-Drama Stars Clara & Yoon Jong Hoon At Namsan Tower

“America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 21 contestants performed Korean drama scenes with Clara and Yoon Jong Hoon in the latest episode, “The Guy With Moves Like Elvis.” The latest challenge for the Cycle 21 contestants was to perform a scene from the tvN drama “Emergency Couple” with Yoon Jong Hoon and Clara standing in as acting partners.

“Emergency Couple” was a popular tvN K-Drama which concluded in April 2014. The drama also starred Song Ji Hyo (Running Man) and Choi Jin Hyuk (Gu Family Book, The Heirs) as a divorced couple who struggled to work together as interns at a hospital.

The five contestants watched scenes from “Emergency Couple” prior to meeting the actors at Namsan Tower. A brief explanation of Namsan Tower and its love locks was provided by J. Alexander (Miss J) who also expressed a strong interest in watching Korean dramas.

Each of the models filmed scenes where they were depicted as foreigners who had arranged blind dates with Clara and Yoon Jong Hoon.

The actors acted opposite each contestant, with both actors exhibiting strong English comprehension. The hardest aspect of the challenge for the models was having to memorize the brief script, which was in English and Korean.

Keith, who was the strongest contestant during last week’s challenges, used his improvisational skills to woo Clara. He was the winner of the K-Drama (Korean soap opera) challenge, after making an impression on Yoon Jong Hoon and Clara.

Cycle 21 of “America’s Next Top Model” features five episodes which were filmed in Korea. Previous episodes have included appearances from James of the Royal Pirates, Jay Park, Ben Baller, and BTOB. 2NE1 and Lee Soo Hyuk will appear in an upcoming episode along with fashion designer Lee Sang Bong.
