Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3’s price is RS 8,150 and it has been quietly launched in September by the South Korean tech giant, starting in India. The device sports a 4-inch WVGA display and capacitive touchscreen, 1 GHz dual-core processor powered with 512MB of RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat as OS.

The successor of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 have a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing snapper. There is 4GB of space available for the handset’s internal storage and it’s also expandable thanks to Micro SD support. Battery life for the unit comes froma 1500 mAh pack. BGR noted that connectivity options for the unit include dual-SIM card slots, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

BGR also noted that the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 joins a list of Android KitKat handsets in Samsung’s portfoli that includes the Samsung Galaxy Star 2, the Samsung Galaxy Star Advance, the Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT and the Samsung Galaxy Core 2.

Flipkart, one of India’s largest online retailers, lists the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 for sale at RS 7,249 and includes free shipping. The unit is available in grey and white.

PhoneArena noted that the main difference between the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 from its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is primarily the fact that the newer handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. After that, it’s pretty much the same specs.

Aside from the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor, it also offers support for 14 regional Indian languages.

It is unknown if the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 will be launched outside of India.

Samsung aims to further itd advance and growth in the Indian market with budget-friendly handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 especially as competitors bud in the lucrative South Asian mobile market.

Xiaomi, which has outperformed Samsung as the number one handset maker in China, has also entered the Indian market with immense success.
