The NBA Trade Rumors are emerging for teams that wanted to take an aggressive step forward but seems to have slipped and stumbled. The Charlotte Hornets is one such team and the blame seems to be placed on their prized acquisition, Lance Stephenson.

According to a fan blog, Hoops Habit there is already turmoil in the Hornets hive.

"Lance Stephenson appears to be one name that comes up for quite a few people, and he simply hasn't fit in with what they have been doing this season. Rumors have begun swirling that he was the issue in Indiana late last season, and that he is the issue in Charlotte this year."

The issue with Indiana was something that was already suspected. Many believed that the Pacers' effort to retain his services were half-hearted and some sectors of the fan base called "Good riddance" when Lance took the offer from Charlotte.

Hoops sage Zach Lowe of Grantland is already reporting some 'buzz' around the Hornets' nest:

"The Hornets have been aggressive making trade calls, according to sources across the league.

The Hornets are searching for upgrades on the wing and at power forward, per those sources, and they are willing to talk turkey on basically anyone other than Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson. Free agents signed this past offseason can't be traded until December 15, and few would be surprised if the Hornets make and take calls on Lance Stephenson ahead of that trigger date."

Lowe mentioned some trade prospects. One of their targets is Jeff Green from the Boston Celtics. Speculating a trade between the two teams, the Hornets will get stability and wing scoring-they need that since Michael Kidd-Gilchrist got injured. For the Celtics, they could they take the gamble on Lance Stephenson since his contract is not so lengthy and expensive. He may also be the backcourt mate that convinces Rajon Rondo to stay.

The Charlotte Hornets are examining their options but this is one that stands out as a real possibility.
