Psy's 'Gangnam Style' Has Broken YouTube: Popular Kpop Music Video Surpasses View Counter Limits; YouTube In Process Of 'Upgrading' So That Video Can Still Be Watched [PHOTO]

Psy's music video for "Gangnam Style" has actually broken YouTube. According to Business Insider, the video has had so many views on YouTube that the video-sharing platform has had to upgrade in order for people to watch it.

The Verge reports that the Kpop video surpassed its old 32-bit limit, which was set on the assumption that no video was likely to be watched more than 2.1 billion times. However, "Gangnam Style" has set the record with a figure of 2,147,483,647 views, and the number is still rising. Right now, "Gangnam Style" is nearly 5 million views over the previous limit.

For those that don't know much about "Gangnam Style," it was released in 2012 and was an instant hit. Business Insider reports that Psy now has 7.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, and his channel has been visited more than 4 billion times since 2010.

The song itself refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam District of Seoul, South Korea, and its catchy beat accompanied with Psy's amusing dance moves have gone on to greatly influence popular culture.  In September 2012, "Gangnam Style" was recognized by the Guiness World Records as the most "liked" video on YouTube, and it won Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards that year.

YouTube itself is surprised that any of their videos could reach such a staggering popularity - on its Google+ page, YouTube said it didn't expect something like this to ever happen, "until we met PSY." Indeed, "Gangnam Style" has earned a lot of attention, both bad and good - the music video has nearly 9 million "likes" and over 1 million "dislikes."
