A Miss BumBum Brazil contestant has been hospitalized in serious condition after a plastic surgery procedure went wrong. Andressa Urach is fighting for her life after the Brazlian beauty suffered complications from a bottom-lift operation.

The Brazilian beauty queen suffered an infection from a plastic surgery operation that removed gel from her thighs that doctors injected her with to increase the size of her thighs. She was admitted to hospital on Saturday.

"I ask everyone to pray a lot, because I'm sure that my dear Jesus is wonderful and will cure it," Urach's mother Marisete of Favari said in a statement.

Andressa Urach, who was a runner-up in Brazil's popular 'Miss Bumbum' competition, is in a "serious condition" in a hospital in the southern city of Porto Alegre.

The Conceicao Hospital Group in the southern city of Porto Alegre said Andressa Urach is in serious condition with an infection in her thighs after she received under-skin injections of a substance to increase volume in the upper legs.

The Conceicao Hospital Group said Urach was taken off a respirator.

Urach had two procedures at the hospital to drain a substance called aquagel that is used in Brazil as an alternative to cosmetic implants.

In a July interview with Brazil's R7 website, Urach "The hydrogel was not absorbed by my body and started to harm me. Now I've discovered that the PMMA is sticking to my muscles and causing the tissue to rot. That's why I am feeling such strong pains. I'm taking morphine every four hours and antibiotics to alleviate the suffering."

According to the Brazilian news agency Globo.com, Andressa Urach, who came in second place at Brazil's annual Miss BumBum Brazil competition in 2012, is on breathing apparatus after the botched procedure.

The 27-year-old model made headlines a few years ago for accosting Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup. Urach claimed she had an affair with the soccer star before the Champions League games in 2013. Cristiano Ronaldo deinied the claims.
