Girls’ Generation Most Likely to Grab Top Spot on Oricon Weekly Singles Chart for First Time

Girls' Generation swept the Oricon daily single chart and DVD chart at the same time.

According to Oricon chart ranking released today Girls' Generation's Japanese fifth single Oh grabbed first place in the daily singles chart as it sold 29,666 copies. The song also took top spots on various charts for iTunes Japan as well.

On the same day Girls' Generation dominated the first place not only in the daily singles chart but also DVD daily compilation chart, music DVD daily chart and Blu-Ray compilation chart with Girls' Generation Complete Video Collection.

Girls' Generation although is considered a top artist in Japan didn't have the luck of grabbing first place in the Oricon weekly single chart yet.

Girls' Generation Japanese debut single "Genie" released in October of 2010 sold an estimated 45,000 copies in the first week of its release however as they released the single same time as Japanese popular idol group Arashi and grabbing fourth place on Oricon weekly chart.

This time there are no other popular artists to compete for on the single album it seems the group is the leading potential to grab the first weekly single chart for the first time ever.

The top three of DVD daily charts also were occupied by K-Pop artists with Girls' Generation followed by FTISLAND's FTISLAND Summer Tour 2012~ Run! Run! Run! @Saitama Super Arena and U-KISS' U-KISS 1st Japan Live Tour 2012.
