In case you don't know talks about "The NeverEnding Story" remake is in works.

Warner Bros. who gained the rights of the property reportedly confirmed the news. In addition, the studio is allegedly talking with two production companies to become partners with the project.

Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way and The Kennedy/Marshall Co. are two of the top-notch production company Warner Bros. is reportedly talking with according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Michael Ende's original German novel about an adventure of a young boy named Bastian Balthazar Bux discovered a book titled "The NeverEnding Story" in the library that brings him to a parallel universe was first brought to the big screen in 1984 is now going to be remade to make it more appealing to the kids of today.

The project is still in its early development hence, no director or cast is yet to be announced.

The original film earned $20 million in the box office when it was first released in 1984, it was directed by Wolfgang Petersen and produced by Neue Constantin.

While, the movie was an instant hit in the big screen it gained more following when it was released in home video, where it instantly became a children's pop culture fantasy.

In 1990, "The NeverEnding Story" had a sequel but did not do well in the box office, a thirn sequel was also released in the U.S. and it suffered the same fate and went immediately to home video.

While, pursuing "The NeverEnding Story" remake might be a risk for Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way and The Kennedy/Marshall Co. as partner production companies, it should be noted that the giant company has a long list of success when it comes to remakes and reboots.
