Tim Tebow Pays For Layaway Bills Thanks To GMA; ‘Girl, It Was Tim Tebow That Came Up Here & Paid My Layaway,’ Gushes One Lucky Shopper

Tim Tebow, the NFL quarterback who has become a sensation in her own right thanks to his charitable acts and Christian faith, has done what could be an equivalent to most shoppers. The 27-year-old athlete paid for some Walmart shoppers layaway bills on Good Morning America’s dime.

USA Today that reported that Tebow was at an Orlando Walmart over the weekend surprising shoppers by paying off their layway tabs for them. Lucky shopper Jasmine Nunes, a nurse, called her mom and gushed about what happened.

“Girl, it was Tim Tebow that came up here and paid my layway,”

The Huffington Post noted that one customer, Damara Jarrett told Tebow that she had lost her car and was a full-time student who missed work. She has placed the gifts on layway for her two small children. She cried and hugged the Heisman trophy winner when he said that he’ll pay for the bill.

Florida is Tebow’s home state, thus it was no surprise that some customers have a strong reaction the moment they see him.

The football star is now a correspondent for GMA and the show has been touring the country to surprise shoppers by settiling their layaway accounts.

A few days after the layway segment, the Florida Gators star was seen next in Disney World with GMA Anchor Robin Roberts. He was there to tape portions of Disney’s Frozen Christmas Celebration, which will air on ABC Christmas Day.

Orlando Sentinel reported that in the opening segment, Tebow talked about his background in football and working with children and shared that he’s not used to working with characters or giant toy soldiers.

The Frozen Christmas Celebration will air on ABC Dec. 25 at 9 AM EST and will also feature performances from Arianna Grande, YouTube star Lexi Walker and Prince Royce.
