Michael Phelps Intersex Girlfriend: Michael Phelps has been busy since he got out of rehab. The Olympic swimmer got out to headlines about his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Lianne Chandler, coming out as having been born a man. Michael Phelps then went back to the ex-Miss California beauty he's been dating on and off.

Michael Phelps won 22 medals in his four summer Olympics. He won six gold in Athens, eight gold in Beijing and four more in London.

After a Sept. 30 bust, the swimmer faces charges of driving under the influence, excessive speed and crossing a double yellow line. He faces two years in jail.

This was Phelps's second DUI arrest since 2004. 

Michael Phelps first official public appearance since the DUI was to make a plea for swimmers and coaches to adopt safety guidelines to prevent Shallow Water Blackout.

Michael Phelps is reportedly back in training. He plans to return to competition after his six-month suspension ends. The suspension ends on March 6  which is time for Phelps to hit the Mesa Grand Prix in Arizona on April 15-18.

Phelps' coach, Bob Bowman, told The Associated Press "We're looking at a lot of different options for competition," Bowman told the AP in a phone interview. "We're just taking it one day at a time. He's back in training."

Taylor Lianne Chandler, the Olympic swimmer's ex-girlfriend, took to Facebook to reveal she was born male. Phelps reportedly split with Chandler soon after the revelation and is now back with his on again off again girlfriend, the former Miss California, Nicole Johnson.

Chandler reportedly claimed to have been with Phelps when he was arrested on suspicion of DUI back in September. 

Phelps went into rehab to alcohol abuse in early October after his second DUI. Before he entered the facility he told his fans, via social media,"The past few days have been extremely difficult. I recognize that this is not my first lapse in judgment."

After Taylor Lianne Chandler confessed she was born David Roy Fitch, a report came out that Phelps was  "horrified" to learn about Chandler's past through the media.

Chandler said she kept her sexuality a secret from Phelps until he entered rehab on October 5. And, she claims, Phelps has yet to respond to the former model's email confession.
