As the new year approaches, anime fans are anticipating quite a bit of new projects slated for 2015. But in addition to the approach of 2015, anime news sites are also recounting the best anime of this year.

While there's no legitimate consensus across polls and critics choices, two anime series do overlap across several lists. In fact, in certain cases they reign supreme. The two aforementioned anime series are "Parasyte the Maxim" and "Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works."

According to a fan poll on Kotaku in October, "Parasyte the Maxim" was the best anime of this fall. Any non believers about the results of the poll need only read several of the Crunchyroll fan written reviews of "Parasyte the Maxim."

"This anime is great at creating suspenseful situations, and does a good job of always keeping you on the edge of your seat," wrote Sfbenji. "I really like the main character of this show. He's a more believable character than most other main characters in anime."

"When I found ‘Parasyte'... I binge watched the hell out of it. This anime makes me eager for more and I want to know what happens, the suspense is making my Migi twitch with anticipation!" exclaimed HadesX40.

Some of the other sites that included "Parasyte the Maxim" in their best of 2014 anime lists are Fast Top Ten and TOR. While "Parasyte the Maxim" received the most votes in the Kotaku poll, it was followed by the other top rated anime, "Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works."

In addition to being featured in the above polls and critics lists, "Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works" also had the honor of a one of a kind simultaneous global premiere at the beginning of October. Additionally, as each episode airs, Anime News Network critic Gabriella Elkens has given high marks in her reviews.
