2PM Nichkhun To Come Back on 'KOICA's Dream'

Will "KOICA's Dream" become a program for punished celebrities to make their comeback?

After a period of silence due to his DUI debacle, 2PM Nichkhun will come back to the airwaves on MBC's "KOICA's Dream." Previously, the program had featured comedian Lee Hyuk Jae who had been away for a year and a half after allegedly assaulting someone. The program is a service project, where it sends Korean celebrities to foreign countries where need for food, for care and for working hands are very high.

At the press conference, Lee Hyuk Jae said, "I went through my service hours with a very heavy and repenting heart." He then named Kang Ho Dong, MC Mong and Shin Jung Hwan for suggestions for the next episode saying, "I hope that this program can become a chance for those celebrities who are suffering a wound somewhere inside."

At this point, industry insiders are saying tha the program may just become one for those to come back. Rather than variety programs where you have to be funny or dramas where you have to focus on a character, "KOICA's Dream" may just be a good self-cleansing program.

JYP Entertainment stated, "It wasn't a long enough period of rest but we agree with what the program tries to do and we believe that it's a good way for him to actually get out and pay back to the community."

The production also said that they decision was made on both sides. Until now, Nichkhun has been known for his continuous volunteer and service work and so the network had been trying to convince him and he agreed after a long deliberation.

Nichkhun will head to Tanzania and will be volunteering for 15 days. The episode will air at the end of November.
