Kingdom Hearts 3 Star Wars Characters? Release Date & Gameplay News

Kingdom Hearts 3 creator Tai Yasue revealed information about rumors surrounding possible Star Wars characters in the upcoming game.

"I can't really go into any specifics or say anything about Star Wars, but when we come up with worlds we really want variety and to make sure that there's a lot of different types of worlds," he said, according to IGN.

The game's developer Tetsuya Nomura revealed during a recent interview with Venture Beat that the gameplay characters "are very cheerful and happy, and they kind of resemble the light in the world."

"As well as the Disney characters: They're inherently very bright and cheery. Personally, I feel that I'm not that good of a person, so I relate better to the enemy characters. The story continues to develop because I'm in that mindset of 'How does this enemy confront Sora?' and I pose those hurdles and challenges [to him]," he also reveals in the gaming feature story interview.

Kingdom Hearts 3 fans have initiated online efforts to make Disney founder Walt Disney a character for the upcoming game.

"Fans were clamoring for the this addition thanks to the love for his works through the years. There's also a desire by fans to interact with him in a virtual world filled with dangers and high octane actions," CrossMap writes in a review of the request.

"Kingdom Hearts represents a world that's a fusion of the timelessness of Walt Disney characters and adaptations together with the heavy Japanese influence stemming from Square, now Square Enix and fans believe that this is a perfect setting with which Mickey Mouse's creator can be seen."

However, speculation suggests that developers are well underway with gameplay construction and that last-minute changes with the inclusion of Walt Disney seem unattainable. Despite developers not announcing an official release date for the game, it has been made known that its plot and setting are in the crucial stages of finalization.

For now, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is set to launch next week in North America and Europe for the Playstation 3, Playstation Lifestyle reports, giving fans of the series something to look forward to.
