'The Hobbit: The Battle OF The Five Armies' Expected To Dominate This Weekend, Already Earned Over $100 Million Globally

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" is expected to dominate this weekend's box office with an already impressive two day haul of $34 million, Boston Herald reported.

The final Hobbit saga is predicted to earn at least $75 million by the end of the weekend domestically.

 Internationally the film last week already earned $116 million toppling the previous Hobbit installments.

Another new release, "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" opened with $491,000 from 2,531.

The report said that it was an opportunity for these films to haul in more money because Sony has decided to cancel the controversial "The Interview."

 "An Unexpected Journey," the first Hobbit installment earned $84.6 million in 2012 on its first weekend and "The Desolation of Smaug" meanwhile hauled in $73.6 million in its initial weekend last year.

Globally, the two pervious Hobbits earned $2 billion.

It's a busy week, with new releases such as 'Foxcatcher' and 'Annie' as well.

 Foxcatcher is about two champion wrestlers; it starts Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo and Steve Carrell.

Carrell 's performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actor category while the movie for Best Picture.

 Last week's new release 'Exodus: Gods and Kings knocked off 'Hunger Games- Mockingjay Part 1 in its three- week reign.

The film is a Christian Bale starter, which made $24 million last weekend.

Another new film last week, 'Top Five,' which stars Chris Rock and Rosario Dawson made it in the top five with a predicted haul of $6.8 million.

Jennifer Lawrence's Mockingjay last week still hauled in $12 million.

However with the new Hobbit movie, Exodus is expected to go down the chart.

Cinemagoers might also now consider movies such as Imitation Game, Birdman and The Theory of Everything after Golden Globes announced its Best Picture nominees.
