’50 Shades Of Grey’ Star Jamie Dornan Went To A Sex Dungeon To Prepare For The Movie; Actor Says There’s No ‘Gratuitous’ Sex Scenes

In order to perform his role as Christian Grey well, "50 Shades of Grey" star Jamie Dornan admitted that he had to visit a sex dungeon.

"I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did... whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives," he told reporters according to Glamour Magazine.

"I was like: 'Come on guys I know I'm not paying for this but I am expecting a show.' It was an interesting evening," he added. "Then going back to my wife and newborn baby afterwards... I had a long shower before touching either of them."

However, while it seems like Jamie Dornan is ready to show everything in the upcoming movie adaptation of E.L. James best selling erotica novel, the 32-year-old actor-model claims that there will be no "gratuitous" sex scenes in the movie, nor will there be frontal nudity.

"There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn't be seeing my, um, todger," Dornan explained to The Observer.

"You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possibly without grossing them out. You don't want to make something gratuitous and ugly and graphic."

The Northern Irish actor also admitted that it was not an easy task for him to film "50 Shades of Grey." It was hard for him to "get turned on" while shooting the sex scenes.

"Anyone who thinks actors get turned on doing sex scenes in films is mistaken," Dornan, who is happily married said, adding that his wife is secure that what he's doing is all for the project. "There are dozens of hairy men standing around, moving cables and lighting equipment. That's not sexy unless you're into being watched, which I'm not."

Jamie Dornan also addressed issues of conservative groups in the U.S. concerning violence against women that allegedly being glorified in "50 Shades of Grey" movie.

"I think it's very hard to argue that when it is all consensual," he explained. "Half the book is about making contracts. Permission and agreement that this be done. There's no rape, no forced sexual situations."

"50 Shades of Grey" movie stars Jamie Dornan as the young BDSM enthusiast millionaire Christian Grey, Dakota Johnson as the young student Anastasia Steele, Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey, Eloise Mumford as Katherine Kavanagn, Victor Rasuk as Jose Rodriguez, Max Martini as Jason Taylor, Dylan Neal as Bob Adams, Rita Ora as Mia Grey and Cellum Keith Rennie as Ray Steele.

It will be released in U.S. cinemas on February 13, 2015.
