Cristiano Ronaldo Statue Unveiled In Madeira As The Real Madrid Star Poses For Pictures In Front Of The Statue With His Family!

Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a for Spanish club, Real Madrid and also captains the Portugal national team, Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro know as Cristiano Ronaldo was born on February 5, 1985.

By the age of 22, Ronaldo had received Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year nominations and won his first Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player awards in 2008.

Recently, the Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo had a giant statue erected in his honor. The life-sized statue was unveiled on Sunday in Madeira, Portugal, the island where he grew up. Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro said "Ronaldo has never forgotten his origins."

The statue depicts the extremely talented and much-loved Portuguese superstar in some extremely body-hugging shorts. Some on Twitter brought to notice, a bulge in the soccer player's shorts.

However, the star player who scored his 400th senior career goal for club and country aged 28, did not seem to be bothered. We can only guess, he had some very specific instructions regarding one particular part of the sculpture or he apparently posed for the statue when he was feeling excited about something.

According to Times Of India, at the statue's unveiling ceremony, Ronaldo said, "This is a very special moment, to have a statue of me." He was accompanied by his family and droves of fans. According to Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, "Ronaldo has never forgotten his origins."

The statue is part of the Real Madrid's forward's personal museum on the island, which includes may awards. The Times of India reports. The Real Madrid star travelled home to the Portuguese island of Madeira and posed in front of the sculpture with his family. Apparently, the museum's memorabilia will expand too as Ronaldo is reportedly favored to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or, basically an MVP trophy, in January. He has already won the award twice before.

Being the island's biggest export, the sentiment is hard to argue. There is a 'CR7' museum in Funchal, the city where he was born. He has scored 34 goals in 27 games for club and country this season.

Arguments over whether or not Ronaldo is the best player in the world or not will always be as he faces stiff competition from Lionel Messi. However, Ronaldo, is head and shoulder above the rest in Madeira.
