Sony To Join Bandwagon Of New, High-End Tablet Production; Samsung And Apple Gain Another Competition?

Sony is joining the bandwagon of tech companies coming up with bigger tablets, Newseveryday reported.

The article stated that it was reported that the larger Sony tablet would be out by 2015.

The rumored tablet will be12.9 inch high-end tablet next year which will cost about $1,000, the size and dimension will be 8.6mm thick with a pixel resolution of 3840 x 2400, the news reports said.

Other features will include a Qualcomm processor and 8-megapixel cameras.

Other tech giants like Samsung and Apple have produced and distributed to the market large tablets.

Sony first launched a Sony Tablet S in 2011 but was later discontinued after a poor performance in the market.

This year, Sony has developed 10.1-inch Xperia Z2 Tablet and 8-inch Xperia Z3 Tablet. The two new tablets have the same response from consumers, not a happy with the product.

Which also received lukewarm response in the market.

PC Magazine however described The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet as "a stylish and powerful

Android tablet, but aside from its razor thin profile, there's little to distinguish it from its peers."

Adding, "the Xperia Z2 Tablet is nearly identical to its predecessor, inheriting the minimalist, flat-rectangle design language that has come to define Sony's mobile portfolio. It's exquisitely slim and exudes refinement, but aside from obligatory performance upgrades, this is an encore, not an exciting new installment. Second verse, same as the first: The Z2 Tablet is big on style, but simply sufficient on substance."

The same article also reported that Apple is allegedly developing a 12.2-inch tablet, which might be called iPad Pro or iPad Air Plus.

According to PC Magazine, tablet devices popularity took off in 2010 and data released in March 2012, showed that 3 percent of U.S. Internet users owned a tablet, to view videos and read news.

Apple's IPad is still the top grossing with 100 million sold between 2010 to 2012.

Android tablet then made a big splash in 2013 reducing Apple's share in the market.
