As the New Year sets in, the creative team of Kristen Stewart's movie, "The Big Shoe," might similarly start scouting for a new location. The film's production is supposed to take place in South Africa's Cape Town next year. However, issues with the government were allegedly not ironed out.

In the said Kristen Stewart movie, the brunette beauty will be playing the role of Delphi. She is a foot model and sex worker who decides to help a shoe designer in need of direction. Apart from the former Robert Pattinson girlfriend, Jim Sturgess and Elizabeth Banks will also join the film.

As per Bankside Films, "The Big Shoe" is a "daring and comedic romance about an unusual, creatively stifled shoe designer, Nate, and his new-found muse, Delphi, who helps inspire him to resume his brilliant designs."

The producers greatly wanted to shoot the scenes in Cape Town. Even director Steven Shainberg visited the city to search for possible locations. He likewise looked for local talents who might be interested to help in the production.

The production is supposed to start in October next year but it might be delayed because of a problem with funding. Last March, it has been approved that the film would have a funding of ZAR32 million ($2,760,580). The local filmmakers have reportedly received only ZAR4 million (approximately $350,000).

The local filmmakers are blaming the city's Arts and Culture Department. It is significant to note that at the time of the deal, the arts and culture minister was still Paul Mashatile. He was later replaced by Nathi Mthethwa.

Co-producer Anton Ernst says that Mashatile greatly supports the project as he can see its potential. Ernst believes that politics ruined the film. He feels "heartbroken" because several supposed crew members come from destitute backgrounds.
