Aishwarya Rai Movie News: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan To Star in Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa; Husband Abhishek Bachchan Thinks ‘They'll Make A Fantastic Team’

Aishwarya Rai Movie News: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing the lead role in director Sanjay Gupta's upcoming film Jazbaa.

Aishwarya Rai's husband Abhishek Bachchan is excited that his wife Aishwarya Rai is making her comeback. Legendary Bollywood Icon Aishwarya Rai hasn't made a movie in almost five years. Abhishek reportedly said Aishwarya and director Sanjay Gupta will make a fantastic team.

"I am very excited to see Aishwarya in 'Jazbaa'. It should be a lot of fun. It's a great script. I love Sanjay Gupta as a director and I think they'll make a fantastic team, and it's always wonderful to see her on screen," he told local outlets in India.

Aishwarya was last seen on the big screen in the 2010 film Guzaarish.

According to Hindustantimes.com, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is set to begin work on Sanjay Gupta's next film. The last time we saw the "Mistress of Spices" on the big screen was in 2010, when she made Guzaarish for the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Aishwaryas Rai Bachchan will star along with Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher in the film "Jazbaa."

Aishwarya and Abhishek had their first child, Aaradhya Bachchan In November 2011.

Aishwarya Rai will begin working on the film on Monday, January 12 along with her co-stars Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher. Legendary Bollywood Icon Aishwarya Rai hasn't made a movie in almost five years.

Jazbaa is an action thriller starring Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi in key roles. Reports say Aishwarya will play a lawyer in the film.

According to Hindustantimes.com, a source explained that "the makers want the actors and other technicians to be comfortable with one another and let them understand each other's working styles before the film starts rolling. That's why the entire primary, as well as secondary cast (of about 17-18 actors) in addition to the heads of the other departments of the movie, will be present at the script-reading session."

Sanjay Gupta told the Hindustantimes that, while Bollywood films don't normally do these table reads, "Internationally, it's the norm. More than anything, it helps the cast bond with each other before the shooting starts. It's a better arrangement than having the actors reach the sets and directly begin reading their lines in front of each other."

"Jazbaa" will shoot in Mumbai and premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival 2015 in May.
