Byungho Of K-Pop Idol Group 24K Allegedly Kept Marriage, Child Secret From Agency & Fans

A Korean entertainment company was allegedly unaware that one of the idols it represents was a married man and father.

Byungho, a member of Choeun Entertainment's idol group 24K, got married in 2012, only a month after 24K debuted. Later that year, his wife gave birth to a baby. Choeun Entertainment was not made aware of the situation. Representatives reportedly admitted that the company has been unable to get in contact with Byungho since learning of the news.

Byungho was born in 1990, and debuted as a member of 24K in September 2012. He then got married in October and his wife had a child in November, according to an insider. Byungho last promoted with 24K in 2013, with the song "U R So Cute." He went on hiatus in the same year due to chronic back issues.

There has been no contact between Byungho, 24K, and Choeun Entertainment. Byungho deleted his 24K-related social media accounts, although Korean media outlets reported that fans saw pictures of him with his family on personal SNS accounts.

Five other 24K members released holiday wishes in December, but Byungho did not appear. The idol group also shared New Year's greetings on its official Facebook page, with maps of the individual member's brains included. Byungho was also not included in that greeting.

A Choeun Entertainment representative commented on the situation. "The marriage is news to us," the rep said. "[Byungho] was not participating in group promotions due to chronic back pain. We are looking into the situation."

The company also issued an apology to the fans of Byungho and 24K for the situation.

24K hinted to an early 2015 comeback in its holiday greeting message, but Choeun Entertainment has not made any official announcements.
