Install Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Beta; 14C99d Firmware Released To Developers

Mac developers can now install the OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 beta.

Apple rolled out the latest Yosemite build a week after releasing its latest version of the OS X firmware. On Wednesday, Apple issued the fourth beta for the OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite maintenance update, which comes with build number 14c99d.

Apple Insider noted that the latest beta requests developers to test the functionality of some features like Wi-fi, VoiceOver, Mail and Bluetooth before the firmware's public release.

Those who are planning to install the Mac OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite beta can access the latest build on the Update section of the Mac AppStore. Also, registered Mac developers can download the firmware from the official Developer Center of Apple.

Apple users should not expect any new features from the upcoming OS version. Instead, "Apple wishes to provide stability to developers to continue improving their apps and functionality in time for the release," the BidnessEtc.com's report reads.

Moreover, the report noted that Apple provided an extensive beta program for the OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 firmware. Aside from the tech titan's internal employees and developers, members of the Apple Seed program are also included in the beta program. This enables the users then to test the pre-release versions of the OS X software.

In addition to the release of the Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 beta, the iPhone maker also rolled out the fourth beta version of the iOS 8.2. The newest mobile operating system is expected to be released in public in March 2015, together with the Apple Watch
