It has been confirmed that Taylor Lautner and girlfriend Marie Avgeropoulus called it quits after more than a year of romance. E! News reports that the split took place several months ago and that it was "completely amicable."

While the reason for Taylor Lautner and girlfriend Maria Avgeropoulus' breakup wasn't confirmed, one source of the publication claimed that the "Twilight" actor's okay: "Taylor is dating and having fun. Nothing serious."

The couple met in 2013 on the set of the action flick, "Tracers." They publicized their romance in July 2013 after being photographed holding hands in New York. Last year, one source close to the two talked about the two's chemistry even if the brunette beauty's older than Lautner by six years.

"Marie and Taylor are totally in love. Taylor's crazy about her, they spend pretty much all their free time together. He's been extremely careful about keeping their relationship out of the spotlight because he's had problems with that in the past, like when he dated Taylor Swift. He knows that too much attention can ruin even the best relationships so he's very protective of what he and Marie have," said the source to Hollywood Life.

The source went on to divulge what made Lautner fall for the "Cult" actress: "She's like the girl version of him - she's super competitive and a total tomboy and he loves that about her."

 Lautner has a history of dating his co-stars. He had a brief romance with Taylor Swift after the two spent time in filming "Valentine's Day" in 2010. He has been linked as well to Lily Collins after meeting on the set of "Abduction" in 2011.

Avgeropoulus also dated co-star Shawn Robert after meeting him on the set of "I Love You, Beth Cooper" in 2009.
