One of Korea’s most popular idol groups was recognized by the Hollywood Music Awards 2014 as a top global artist.

Super Junior took the top spot in the “Global Artist” category after fans voted over 3 million times for the SM Entertainment mega group. Super Junior was the only Asian artist to win an award from the vote-based awards. Justin Bieber, One Direction, and 5 Seconds of Summer were among other winners of awards.

The Hollywood Music Awards 2014 were hosted by Portal Hollywood, and over 37 million votes were taken into account to decide the winners. Fans could vote on Portal Hollywood’s website and social media.

Super Junior competed against Fifth Harmony, Maite Perroni, Anitta, Dulce Maria, Demi Lovato, Lorde, and several other top artists from all over the globe.

Super Junior had 3,808,920 votes, according to Portal Hollywood.

Super Junior made a group comeback as a group in 2014 for the first time since 2012 with the album “Mamacita.” The album was well received by international outlets, including Billboard, and was re-released as the special edition “This Is Love” album.
