Will Wentworth Miller And Dominic Purcell Leave ‘The Flash’ Cast? ‘Excited’ About ‘Prison Break’ Season 5, FOX Producers ‘Definitely Interested’ In Reboot

FOX producers recently revealed that they are "definitely" interested in bringing back "Prison Break" for season 5. Stars of the series Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell can't wait for the reboot - if it happens - but does this mean they would leave the cast of the CW series "The Flash"?

Entertainment Weekly reports Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman told reporters: "There is some speculation in the press about 'Prison Break,' which honestly was slightly news to us.

"Although we've made it clear over the years to the studio that we would bring 'Prison Break' back in a heartbeat. It's probably the perfect event series. If our old partners in that show are interested, that would be great."

This must be music to the ears of Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who told E! News at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour that they couldn't be more ready for "Prison Break" season 5 and a reboot for the brothers.

"We actually floated the idea to Fox very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest," Miller said. "They seemed to think there was something there."

"It's something that Fox is, as Wentworth said, potentially excited about," Purcell says, with Miller quickly adding, "Maybe definitely excited about. Maybe definitely."

Miller added, "It's just baby steps at this point, early stages."

Miller also said that "Prison Break" could use the revival of FOX's "24" as "a model" for a successful reboot.

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are currently recurring as villains on The CW's "The Flash." Would they leave the cast for "Prison Break" season 5? It's probably too early to tell, but Miller credited his onscreen reunion with Purcell on "The Flash" for sparking his interest in a "Prison Break" reboot.

"When I got back together with Dom and were spending time together on set and having so much fun and all these memories came back to me, I thought wouldn't it be cool if we could potentially revisit that world? And I think that's a really smart model. You've got a show that worked and worked well and made its mark," he said.

Miller even has some ideas for the revival: "To go back and do something like we did at the end of season four, where there were those two standalone episodes were Sarah was in trouble; it was like a hidden chapter, we didn't know this, but we're going to share this with you, wouldn't it be cool to go back and layer one of those things in. Like another standalone chapter, this is what you didn't see before," Miller says. "Or a where are they now, it's five years later, limited series kind of thing. I think that'd be really cool."
