K-Pop Crossover: Producer Sean Garrett Collaborating With 2NE1's CL For Her Solo Debut?

It is not only 2NE1 fans who find Lee "CL" Chaerin amazing, but music producer Sean Garrett as well.

On Saturday, the 35-year-old producer complimented CL on Twitter and uploaded a photo of the pair together on Instagram. Based on this, observers believe they could be meeting for her upcoming solo debut.

"Wow this young superstar here is so amazing," tweeted Garrett. "You know what we about to do!!"

As a producer, Garrett has accrued 18 number one singles and has worked with names such as Beyonce, Usher and Miley Cyrus.

In November, it was announced by record label YG Entertainment that CL would be making a solo debut in the US early next year.

"I want to represent Asian women," said CL to Billboard last year.

"I want to break that typical Asian female stereotype. There's this standard where they're all calm. I want to break that. I want to tell the world that there are some badass Asian female girls."

Based on her recent Instagram photos, CL's debut is expected to include collaborations with Diplo, Skrillex and Jesse Jo Stark. Her debut will be overseen by talent manager Scooter Braun, known for working with Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

In addition, CL could also be making new music with iconic hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas.

On Jan. 10, will.i.am asked CL to join the group for their 20-year anniversary celebration. This sentiment was also echoed by Black Eyed Peas member Taboo.

"We need to collaborate with you on the new Black Eyed Peas release," tweeted will.i.am on Twitter.

Recently, 2NE1's hit single "I Am the Best" was re-released by Capitol Records, making many wonder if the group has signed with the label for an international debut next year as well.
