Amanda Knox's Murder Case Retrial To Test Her Family Anew? Meredith Kercher's Roommate's Fate Hangs On The Balance Again

The retrial of Amanda Knox's murder case will reportedly test her family's resolve anew as the fate of Meredith Kercher's alleged killer is up in the air again.

The family of the Seattle resident has reportedly hired an expensive PR firm to bleach Amanda Knox's image before the US media. The decision polarized opinions regarding her guilt on the death of her former British roommate in Perugia, Italy.

In a previous report from Seattle Times, her father Curt Knox said that they have been very guarded when speaking to the public in the fear of impacting the Amanda Knox murder case.

"What we can say publicly versus what we really feel are oftentimes totally different. We just have to leave it at that," he said. "It makes the stress level in this thing, it makes it huge."

He also said that they have been draining the family's fortunes to try to prove Amanda Knox's innocence. If Curt Knox was going to account the cost, they could already buy a nice house in the Pacific Northwest.

Amanda Knox wrote an essay for Seattle Met magazine last year where she lamented the lack of laws to support those who are wrongfully accused so they can be reintegrated back to society.

"Society has hesitated to define being wrongly accused as victimization. I suspect that's because doing so would admit a failing on the part of the authorities we trust to protect against victimization," she wrote. "Some may acknowledge the wrongly accused person's status as a victim, but lack empathetic awareness."

"When you're accused of a horrific act you didn't do, you inevitably experience shock, disorientation, confusion. There's tension above your right eyebrow and below your right nostril that sometimes triggers both to twitch uncontrollably, making you self-conscious about looking people in the face. There's a pinpoint knot that spasms between your shoulder blades, behind your heart, making it hard to sit still. There's pressure that squeezes your temples and tingles on the edges of your eyeballs, making it hard to concentrate," she described the feeling of being wrongfully accused.

According to reports, the final decision on Amanda Knox murder case retrial will be handed in March this year.
