Install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Update On Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE; TeamUB Custom ROM Brings In More Customization Options For GT-I9505

The official Android Lollipop firmware is soon coming to Samsung Galaxy S4 but users who cannot wait for Google's latest operating system can choose to install a custom ROM.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE can be updated using the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, according to GSM Arena. Samsung earlier announced that an official firmware based on Android 5.0 Lollipop will soon be rolled out for the 2013 flagship smartphone. However, those who are itching for a more advanced upgrade can use a new custom ROM called TeamUB to install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update.

Take note that the TeamUB ROM is currently compatible with the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE equipped with Snapdragon 600 chipset. Particularly, the model number of the smartphone should be GT-I9505. To verify the device, go to Settings > About Phone > Model Number.

The custom firmware is "based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) 5.0.2 Lollipop OS." Those who will install TeamUB custom ROM can expect more customization options and a new visually appealing user interface.

As listed on International Business Times, Some of the features included in the TeamUB Android 5.0.2 Lollipop ROM are Fluid interface, Centre Clock option, privacy option, Nav-Bar height, battery percent in status bar, custom notification light option and al the CyanogenMod features.

Also, there are important conditions that should be met before proceeding to actually install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update. First, the battery level needs to be checked as installation requires the smartphone to have more than 80 percent of battery power. This is to prevent any power interruptions in the middle of the OS upgrade.

Also, there should be a proper backup of all the salient data and settings stored on the phone. ClockWorkMod, TWRP and other recommended recovery tools can be utilized when creating the backup.

The USB Debugging Mode of the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE must be enabled first before installing Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update via the TeamUB ROM.
