This past Thursday, singer Shakira and her footballer boyfriend Gerard Piqué welcomed their second son Sasha Piqué Mebarak into the world. "The Voice" coach gave birth in Barcelona, Spain, and little Sasha will be joining his two-year-old big brother Milan as part of the superstar family tree.

According to Yahoo Celebrity, the name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means "defender of mankind" and "warrior." Both Shakira and Sasha are confirmed to be in excellent health.

People Magazine reports that Shakira did not spread the news of her pregnancy with Sasha until last August. She finally stated, "Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you for all your well wishes." The gender of her child became public knowledge when Shakira's parents stated, "Yes, another little boy. A playmate for Milan."

It's possible there could be even more children on the way - according to US Weekly, Shakira stated, "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard - my own futbol team."

With a growing family in mind, could marriage be the next step in Shakira and Piqué's relationship? This past June, Shakira made it sound like marriage wasn't much of a consideration. She stated, "I just don't find marriage a necessary step in a couple's life." However, she and Piqué are still very happy together, and marriage is a future possibility.

She continued, "We already have what's essential, you know?  We have a union, a love for each other, and a baby. I think that those aspects of our relationship are already established, and marriage is not going to change them. But if I'm ever going to get married, he's the one."
