Adam Lambert Complements Queen In Tour Despite Age Gap; Former 'American Idol' Struts His Stuff On Stage

Adam Lambert is reportedly fitting perfectly with Queen despite the huge age gap, as the former "American Idol" strutted his stuff with relative ease on stage.

The Nottingham Post claimed that the late Freddie Mercury would have approved of Adam Lambert as the heir apparent to his own flamboyance and talent.

"He isn't Freddie of course, and nor does he make any claim to be the great man's heir, preferring to pay respectful tribute to his memory by leading a celebration of his music," it said.

Adam Lambert admitted in an article by UK Express that being included in the Queen tour has increased his confidence level.

In fact, he's now working on a solo album.

"I think people are going to be really surprised," he said. "The album feels like a new era for me - emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh."

Adam Lambert also said that his album is heavily influenced by the time he spent with the Queen band during the tour.

"Being on the road with a British rock band, and being in London a lot this year... I think that has affected my sound and where we are headed with it," Lambert said. "Europe is very ahead of the curve... and I was definitely influenced by that."

During the Queen + Adam Lambert performance at the Capital FM Arena, the former "American Idol" alum had to strut his stuff on stage with added pressure as Freddie Mercury's mother was there to watch the performance, said Nottingham Post.

"Lasers pierced the air, a huge screen in the shape of a Q projected 50 feet high images of the guys in action, a circle of beams descended over the stage as Roger Taylor was raised on high. It was beyond spectacular," the article noted.

It noted that Queen got a much needed infusion of youth from Adam Lambert, which allowed them to continue to wield that rock and roll magic for the generation of today.
