Guns N Roses Working On New Album Based On Old Slash Material; DJ Ashba Confirms ‘We Have Tons Of Stuff’ For Upcoming Record

After releasing "Chinese Democracy" last 2008, Guns N Roses are gearing up for a follow up new album that is expected to come out this 2015.

From a report from Loud Wire, guitarist Richard Fortus confirmed that the band is moving on with a follow up and claimed that they have some materials that were based from Slash's former work.

"A lot of the new stuff that we've been working on; some of the stuff come[s] from nothing and some of the stuff is stuff that we've been working on that were ideas that were already there. Some of the stuff Slash did - it was the beginning of the seed of the song that's been around for a while," he said in an interview last November.

"There's so much stuff that's recorded, there's so much stuff that was done. I mean, there's three albums worth of material, easy ... Axl is very secretive. He doesn't want stuff getting out. He wants to create stuff and then release it when it's ready. He's also a bit of a perfectionist, as you can imagine," he continued.

Axl Rose recently said from another interview with Loud Wire, that in terms of new material for the new album, Guns N Roses wouldn't be worried as they have prepared enough materials to produce another album after they wrote more than expected since releasing their 2008 LP.

"We recorded a lot of things before 'Chinese [Democracy]' was out," Rose said. "We've worked more on some of those things and we've written a few new things. But basically, we have what I call kind of the second half of 'Chinese.' That's already recorded. Then we have a remix album made of the songs from 'Chinese.' That's been done for a while, too."

A tour was confirmed by DJ Ashba to happen this year as possibly a promotion for a new Guns N Roses album.

"We are planning on doing quite a bit of touring this coming year," Ashba said. "The focus is getting in a studio and putting together what we all feel is the best Guns N' Roses record. Lack of material is not an issue. We have tons of stuff."
