Billboard Columnist Jeff Benjamin Calls Thinks 4Minute Is 'Fiercer Than Ever' On New Single ‘Crazy’

Billboard praised girl group 4minute’s recent comeback.

On Feb. 9, Billboard’s K-pop column, K-Town, revealed an article that brought attention to the group’s new song, “Crazy.”

“4minute, who showed a different side to them through their ballad, ‘Cold Rain’, has spread their wings after releasing their double title song, ‘Crazy’,’ said the Billboard article. “4minute first came out with feminine hip-hop style with their songs ‘What’s Your Name?’ and ‘What Are You Doing Today’, but they have strayed away from this style for sometime.”

Billboard then predicted why the group came out with such a different style of song.

“It could also be that because most K-Pop girl group’s life spans are on average five years and 4minute probably wanted to make a strong comeback because of that.”

They also stated that “Crazy” sounded similar to the beginning trap beat of HyunA’s “Red.”

The song also features a turbo powered drum, base and synth sounds that work well with Sohyun and Gayoon’s rap as well as the melody line, according to the Billboard article.

Billboard also stated that their music video for “Crazy” was one to watch and that their performance is something to watch on a live stage.

On the other hand, 4minute will release their mini album on Feb. 9.
