Cindy Crawford Sparks Beauty Standard Discussion, Leaked Unretouched Marie Claire Photo Inspirational To Fans [PHOTO]

Famed supermodel Cindy Crawford has been generating a buzz lately through a leaked and unphotoshopped image of her taken from a December 2013 cover story from Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America. The image has since gone viral, and has brought up a discussion of beauty standards and the portrayal of women in the media.

Marie Claire says of the photo, "It is real, it is honest, and it is gorgeous." We couldn't agree more! The picture can be seen at E Online, and shows the 48-year-old beauty wearing black lingerie, a hat, and a jacket. She is standing up, and her face is turned to the side in an effortlessly chic manner.

Many fans found Crawford's body to be beautiful, realistic, and even inspirational. Twitter exploded with support, with one fan stating, "@CindyCrawford Down with photoshop! Let you serve as a role model to all, including other models, flaws make you real and real is beautiful." Another wrote, "If we have to endure mainstream media representations of womanhood and beauty, then at least let them be real ones #CindyCrawford."

Crawford has yet to respond to the photo leak, but we can tell you how she maintains her bodily health and self-esteem. She stated, "The secret is that there is no secret. Do all the stuff we know: Don't smoke, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, find what makes you happy."

She continued, "I don't want to look in the mirror every day and be down on myself. Look, I'm holding together pretty good, but I don't look like I did when I was 25 or 30 or even 40. What I'm finding for myself is that if I continue to be engaged, to do what I love, that's how I get my self-esteem cup filled."

It sounds like Crawford agrees with Audrey Hepburn - happy girls are the prettiest girls.
