The popularity of "Fifty Shades of Grey" made its two lead stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, household names. Now, the actor who plays the controversial roles of opened up about how he handled the pressure that came with the expectations of fans.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" actor Jamie Dornan portrays the role of a businessman whose dark past caused him to have sadistic tendencies in the bedroom. The actor said that he merely did his part without worrying if the viewers would be impressed.

"At the very core of everything that we did with the movie, it was just like, 'Let's give these fans what they want'," Jamie Dornan told MTV News. "There might be people who I'm not their ideal, or I don't fulfil whatever their fantasy was of this guy, but I can't do anything about that."

As opposed to Dakota Johnson who is unmarried, Jamie Dornan is married to English actress and musician Amelia Warner. The couple has a 15-month-old daughter named Dulcie, who reportedly helped the actor while filming "Fifty Shade of Grey."

"My wife was very heavily pregnant at the time, so we had to get to Vancouver, have a Canadian baby," he said. "It was kind of a mad time, and most of my energy was taking care of my wife, and when our baby came, taking care of her... it was good to have something else to focus on to take away that pressure, in a way."

Now that the "Once Upon a Time" actor will be doing two more films for the trilogy, is he worried that fame will change the course of his life?

 "I love both [my friends and family], and I've had the same group of mates since I was a kid and that doesn't change, so essentially those things, and my answer is that I don't think my life will change because those things don't," he told Glamour magazine.

He likewise said that the only difference fame will make is that "people recognize you in the street more."
