Amanda Knox's Murder Case Appeal Taking Toll On Meredith Kercher's Roommate? Budding Reporter Looks Worn Out In Public Outing After Engagement News

Is the whole murder case trial taking a toll on Amanda Knox?

The Seattle native and convicted killer of Meredith Kercher was snapped in Chinatown over the weekend looking "scruffy" as she emerged in public for the first time since the announcement that she's now engaged.

"Sporting a scruffy ensemble of a green parka and lace-up boots, the 27-year-old was pictured running errands," Daily Mail reported. "The bride-to-be, who had lank hair and what appeared to be a scratch over her lip, later enjoyed a curry with a female friend."

It was the first time that Amanda Knox was photographed following news of her engagement to musician Colin Sutherland.

"Knox has sought to keep a low profile since returning, despite bouts of paparazzi stalking that yielded pictures of her and Sutherland, a lanky rock musician," the article from The Seattle Times said. "Her engagement was disclosed by a source close to the family, and Knox confirmed it in an email, but declined to say anything else."

The Mirror noted that Amanda Knox wasn't wearing her engagement ring in the photo.

"She picked up some food shopping at a Safeway supermarket the following day and visited a Goodwill charity shop on February 16, 2015," it said. "Knox has reportedly known Sutherland since attending middle school. The pair are not believed to have set a date for the wedding."

Earlier, a petition was uploaded on Change.org asking for independent investigators to revisit the conviction of Amanda Knox murder trial.

The letter reads: "Please investigate the activities of local law enforcement authorities and consular staff in the aftermath of the death of Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy on November 1, 2007. There were multiple violations of national and international laws."

The letter, addressed to the Ministero della Giustizia of Italy, UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and the US Department of State, posits that the conviction of Amanda Knox in the murder trial related to the killing of Meredith Kercher shouldn't have happened in the first place.
