Liverpool FC defeated rival Southampton on Sunday in a Week 26 match of the English Premier League.

Liverpool FC, coming out of a 3-2 victory over Tottenham, was expected to be the favorite in the match. The team is currently ranked number six in the league. 

Southampton, coming out of a 0-0 tie with West Ham United, was considered the underdog of the match. It is ranked number five in the league. 

Currently, the top three scorers within the league are Sergio Agüero of Manchester City with 17 goals, Diego Costa of Chelsea with 17 goals and Charlie Austin of the Queens Park Rangers with 14 goals.

Sky Television and BT Sport are currently in talks with the Premier League over rights to broadcast season matches, which are centered over payment methods and customer access.  

"There will be a significant gap, of around 17 months, between the auction and the start of the 2016/2017 season when broadcasting of the relevant matches will commence," Virgin Media wrote in a recent statement, according to The Standard. 

"In the event that Ofcom's investigation concludes that there is an infringement, Ofcom has the necessary powers to require the Premier League and Premier League clubs to make changes to arrangements for the broadcasting of matches within the time available before the start of the relevant season."
