The couple met in 2009 through a mutual friend. She was described as pretty, smart, a non-celebrity and seven years older than the 29-year-old actor. Lee registered his marriage along with the birth of his son in 2011, but he waited to announce the marriage until November of 2012.

At the same time he shocked fans by telling them that he already had a year-old son. At that time the couple planned to have a wedding ceremony in March 2013.
