GoPro Hero 5 Release Date Set This Fall? Action Camera Rumored To Have 8K Recording At 60 FPS

Following up a successful line of action cameras, GoPro is set to release the Hero 5, with shipping date set in fall.

Based on a report from The Verge, the GoPro Hero 4 sold as much as 2.42 million units since it was introduced in fall 2014. This success sparked speculations from experts that GoPro may do the same this year with the Hero 5.

To add to all the rumors, some techies suggested some specs that could be included in the upcoming device.

First of all, a huge face-lift has been reported for the camera. With their past releases, the cameras may have looked almost the same but experts suggest that a new design may be expected for the follow up.

A built in mini screen may be installed at the back part of GoPro Hero 5 while the position of the lens may be tweaked a bit.

Christian Times added that despite its physical features, GoPro might provide the highest possible video capture quality. Previously locked in with a 4k capture, reports suggested that the company might take it up a notch equipping the Hero 5 with an 8k capture that could record to as high as 60 FPS. This could mean that the camera could shoot at a higher frame rate even with a lower resolution.

Battery life has been the number one issue that users would complain about and an improvement in the battery is what experts are suggesting.

From 1,160 mAh seen on the Hero 4, a 2,200 mAh is expected on the newer device. Though this would mean a slightly bigger battery, a bulkier body might also be seen on GoPro Hero 5's release.

Reports, meanwhile, claim that current add on gadgets can still be used on the new device. Although there is no official release date confirmed yet for GoPro Hero 5,  experts and techies continue to speculate what the upcoming camera could offer.
