K-Pop Beyond The Charts: Let Anda's Silky Smooth New Single 'Mastering' Wash Over You [VIDEO]

K-Pop Beyond The Charts is a weekly review column highlighting Korea's modern day musical innovators who have yet to find mainstream success.

The 24-year-old South Korean singer Won Min Ji has been through a variety of sounds and styles in her three-year music career.

Debuting in 2012 under the name Andamiro, with the club music-infused sound of her first EP, "Hypnotize," by the following year, the singer had switched it up, favoring a folk-rock approach on "Waiting" featuring rapper Double K.

On "Mastering," released on Thursday, the singer has once again done a full 180, returning with a new name (Anda) and a new sound, a sultry Wurlitzer-driven R&B that is nothing short of intoxicating. Anda even lays down a rap that is pretty sweet, proving she is an artist that is still full of surprises.

Producer Choi Joon Young dials in a warm and fuzzy feeling on "Mastering," keeping the overall sound picture round and smooth as well as keeping the drums sound from getting too sharp or jarring.

In Anda's vocals, it is interesting to hear her reference both Western artists like Regina Spektor or "That's The Way Love Goes"-era Janet Jackson, as well as dreamy Korean artists like IU and Sunmi.

But the thing that sets "Mastering" apart from her previous work is that Anda seems to be truly enjoying herself. That's not to say she seemed pained or strained in her recordings as Andamiro, but it is undeniable that Won seems to be more in her element as Anda.

Even watching her clown around in her underwear in the sizzling hot music video for "Mastering," Anda seems more relaxed, more willing to be herself.

And what's more sexy than confidence, right?
