Lee Seung Gi To Release 1st Album In Three Years

One of Korea's most popular entertainers will be releasing a new album.

Lee Seung Gi plans to release a new album before May, reported Korean media outlets. The album was originally planned for March, but was postponed to be released in either April or May. This will be Lee's first album since 2012's "Forest."

Along with the upcoming album, Lee is expected to release plans for a new "Hope" concert series, the first of which was held in Seoul in 2010.

Lee's album release date has yet to be announced, but will likely be released around the same time that two popular male K-pop groups, Big Bang and EXO, make highly anticipated comebacks.

It is unknown whether this will be Lee Seung Gi's final album to be released prior to the 28 year old singer enlisting in mandatory Korean military service.

Despite not releasing any new albums since 2012, Lee released the song "Last Word" from the soundtrack of the Korean drama Gu Family Book in 2013. Lee starred in multiple dramas during his musical hiatus, including Gu. The King 2 Hearts, and You're all Surrounded.

Lee's sixth album will come on the heels of his first role in a movie, the film Love Forecast, co-starring Moon Chae won. The album's preparations were postponed due to Lee's hectic promotional schedule for Love Forecast.

Lee Seung Gi's personal life became a hot topic in 2014 when it was revealed that he and Girls' Generation member YoonA were in a relationship.

The singer debuted with "Because You're My Girl" in 2004, and became one of South Korea's most popular multi-talented entertainers, who pursued careers in not only singing and acting but also became a popular variety show star and MC.

Lee was ranked as one of South Korea's most powerful celebrities in 2014 by Forbes Korea.
